ILFORD  announced today that its GALERIE Prestige Gold Mono Silk has been awarded the 2013 TIPA photo award for Best Inkjet Photo Paper. Designed specifically for printing fine art monochrome images, TIPA (Technical Image Press Association) praised the new Gold Mono Silk for bringing out a rich, vibrant tonal range and transition in black and white prints.

Enabling photographers to achieve GMS TIPA_Matterinkjet prints reminiscent of those they developed in the traditional darkroom era, the acid and lignin-free fibre-based paper simulates the qualities of traditional silver halide black and white photographic paper. By focusing on all of the elements needed to create the perfect monochrome image, ILFORD have designed Gold Mono Silk with exceptional Dmax and Dmin values to create a product that offers seamless contrast and transition between shadow and highlight areas.

“Winning a TIPA Award for our inkjet photo papers for the second consecutive year is a true honour for ILFORD,” said Paul Willems, CEO of ILFORD. “TIPA Awards are the most globally sought-after and admired recognition for photo products, and a clear distinction that further demonstrates our commitment to offering the very best in professional inkjet media.”

Product Marketing Manager for ILFORD, Lorna Nairn said, “This is our 3rd TIPA award for GALERIE Products, and will have pride of place next to
the award for Gold Fibre Silk and Smooth Gloss and Pearl 310gsm. In addition Gold Mono Silk now has now received 3 awards – the photokina
Star Award in September 2012 and we have just been informed that the product has also won the Gold prize by Digital Camera Grand prize 2013 in Japan.”
