Congratulations to ILFORD Master Eric Meola on the publication of his new photo book “Streets of Fire:Bruce Springsteen in Photographs and Lyrics 1977-1979.” Eric has been working on this book for a couple of years now and it’s great to see it out and creating a life of it’s own.
On October 4 Eric posted this on Facebook: “Well, it just got published on 9/25, and as of tonight it’s #1 in Amazon’s “portraiture,” and #542 overall out of…millions of books. Way to go, Bruce ! All my earnings go to the Community FoodBank of NJ, so get the word out, and help some people who really need it. If you want to add your name to the 14,000+ likes at Bruce’s FB page, it’s here: http://www.facebook.com/brucespringsteen.” As of today it’s over 18, 000 Likes on Springsteen’s page for that post.
Bruce Springsteen is an icon of our times to be sure. Eric Meola’s view of The Boss is a long term look at his development during this very important period. Some of the images have never been published before and are offered along with lyrics that inform the images and give them context. There’s also a wonderful essay by Joyce Millman to add to the mystic of these beautiful intimate images. I’ve just ordered my copy. I can’t wait for it to arrive!
Eric Meola uses ILFORD GALERIE Prestige Gold Fibre Silk for his fine art images. See more of Eric’s beautiful work on his website at www.ericmeola.com. There you’ll find links to all his books, beautiful photo galleries of his images, his wonderful blog called Seeing in Color, and more.
