MOTHER by ILFORD Master Elinor Carucci

MOTHER_carucci.jpgILFORD Master Elinor Carucci has just published her book “MOTHER.” The book is an overview of her nearly decade long project photographing life as a mother. Discovering the highs and lows of motherhood, Elinor documents the emotions that come with giving birth to and raising twins. Elinor’s ability to capture small moments of real life is striking and challenging. Her work brings one into the moment of a photograph often evoking strong emotion, and not infrequently the sensation of sound, touch, and smell. This is a book of photographs that will inspire you. “MOTHER” is published by Prestel Publishing and is available at Amazon.com.

There are several events planned to celebrate the launch of “Mother.” The first is planned for October 12, 2013 at The Photographer’s Gallery in London. Elinor will give an artist’s talk at 4:00pm as her gallery show featuring some of the photographs from the book opens within an eight person show called Home Truths: Photography, Motherhood and Identity.
