Artists in Motion AIM in LA | Portfolio Reviews

ILFORD is excited to be partnering with NYCFotoWorks’ Artists in Motion AIM portfolio reviews launching in LA in two weeks on April 17, 2013. This portfolio review series is a rare opportunity for photographers to have face-to-face meetings with top art buyers, artist agents, and photo editor. LA is less than two weeks away and with only 20 spots left be sure to apply today.

Here’s how it works –

  • All artists must first apply.
  • Accepted photographers will be emailed an acceptance email with a link – see available packages
  • Schedules are emailed to photographers the week before the event.
  • All meetings are 1-on-1 and based upon the reviewers’ attendance time, they choose when they can come, we schedule your meetings within those time frames.

Filter Photo Festival | Photographic Prints Still Rock

Portfolio Reviews Photographic PrintsThis week we spoke to Erin Hoyt, Director of Programming for Filter Photo Festival. Erin talked with us about the importance of color management when preparing photographs for portfolio reviews which are part of the festival. Filter Photo Festival is billed as “the Midwest’s premier photography event.” The festival is scheduled for October 15-21, 2012 in Chicago. October is also Chicago Artists Month which “celebrates the city’s art and artists as essential building blocks in the development of vibrant and livable neighborhoods that connect to make Chicago a world class creative city.” Other festivals serve the east and west coast areas. Hallmark Institute of Photography ILFORD GALERIE Prestige Smooth PearlHallmark Institute of Photography is a unique educational institution. It offers a one of a kind 10-month intensive photo program that includes commercial, portrait, and wedding photography alongside multimedia and video training, business education and more. The days and weeks are long and the assignments challenging.  And in the end students submit a collection of images for their final portfolio review.  This is where the rubber meets the road. The student’s body of work is judged in both digital and digital print formats.

Each student is required not only to create, photograph, and process the image files. They are also required to make prints of each of the images, prints good enough to stand (more…)
